I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (TX #85921) with a counseling philosophy grounded in the belief that every individual possesses the strength and resilience needed to overcome obstacles and create positive change. Through collaboration and empathy, I partner with clients to identify their unique strengths and develop strategies to address concerns such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, and more.
I completed my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health from Tarleton State University and a Undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from University of Texas at Arlington. I utilize knowledge from both to take a holistic approach in helping my client’s. I work with clients of all ages, children through adulthood. I have experience working with children through life-transitions and daily struggles as well as adults and families overcoming obstacles and life stressors.
With 16 years of specialized expertise in guiding adolescents through their developmental journey, I understand the complexities they face, including anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, family dynamics, peer relationships, academic stress, and identity exploration. I recognize that mental health is influenced by a multitude of factors, including genetics, environment, lifestyle, and past experiences. Taking a collaborative and client-centered approach, I assist clients in exploring the root causes of their struggles, developing coping skills, and cultivating resilience in the face of life's challenges.
Whether clients are grappling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, or seeking personal growth and self-discovery, I am dedicated to supporting them on their journey towards healing and transformation. Together, we can explore new pathways to wellness, empower positive changes, and foster a deeper sense of peace, fulfillment, and resilience. My professional journey has been diverse, rooted in a person-centered approach. It began with serving as a public service officer in a detention center, followed by a fulfilling role as a middle school teacher and coach. Eventually, I transitioned to counseling in both elementary and secondary settings.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations, deepening my appreciation for individuals from all walks of life. Witnessing their daily battles and shared triumphs has been profoundly rewarding, enriching my understanding of the human experience.
Beyond counseling, I am honored to be a wife and mother of three wonderful children. Our family shares a deep love for traveling to Utah and immersing ourselves in the beauty of the mountains. Personally, I thrive in an active lifestyle, whether participating in recreational team sports, running, or engaging in various workouts. Exploring the benefits of nutrition and physical activity is a true passion of mine, continually fascinated by the positive impact it brings to our lives.
